The Bachelor of Arts in
Character Animation is a high quality professional education. The program is
created and taught by professionals, guiding the students to become ready
for the challenges of the demanding albeit rewarding work life in the
advertising, TV, film or games industry.
The Character Animation program has been developed from a traditional foundation; studying the theories of drawing and design our students receive a thorough knowledge of aesthetic sensibility, which is often lacking in today's saturated 3D world, giving them a step ahead when working further within the 3D platform.
The focus: Gaining the classical principles of animation
much like they have been doing it since the beginning, through the study of
both physicality and acting. All aspects of animation filmmaking in 2D
are touched upon from Storyboarding, Character Design, Layout and
Backgrounds. The year ends with a class production in either 2D hand drawn or
2.year (Digital Animation)
The second year transitions what they have been learning thus far on to a 3D platform. The aspects of computer character animation are thoroughly explored, while the other areas of the 3D workflow, including Modeling and Rigging, which are lightly touched upon. The year culminates in a game production in collaboration with The Danish Academy for Digital Interactive Entertainment, www.DADIU.dk
During the third year of study the Character animation and CG Artist lines merge into production teams to create their final works, Short films or Game concepts. Communication and collaboration skills are put into focus and the teams learn to plan and overview deadlines. These productions allow for students to focus further on an area of specialization as they prepare for the job market.

Finally, the last semester consists of the vocational training period. Throughout this period the student will test and develop her/his skills, and acquire more knowledge under the supervision of a current professional.
