A one room student apartment is about 2000-3500 SEK in smaller cities, average cities around 2300-4300 SEK, and in larger cities 2500-4500 SEK. It is expensive to live in Finland if you are a student, especially in the capital area (Helsinki). A very popular way of living is to live in student apartments, or student dormitories. These places are in general cheaper to live at, but it is worth checking out other living choices as well. A very good way to cut the costs is to get a big apartment and split the costs with other students. Usually these apartments are in really good shape, and this is only one of the reasons why they are so attractive among students. In university cities it is also common to share apartments from the private market together with other students.
