The studies will lead to a Master of Science degree in Environmental sciences. The first year consists of seven coordinated courses: Environmental monitoring, Database and data processing, Geographic information technology, Mathematical statistics, Sampling and data acquisition, Statistical methods for environmental analyses and environmental monitoring - Analyses, prognoses and communication. The second year includes an individual master’s thesis, and time for optional courses. First-year compulsory courses take place in Umeå; second-year studies can be pursued at the SLU campus in Umeå, Uppsala or Alnarp.

The robotic programme is a programme that provides students with an in-depth knowledge of autonomous systems, robot simulation and mathematical modelling within this particular field. Students are provided with access to a large, well equipped industrial robotics laboratory as well as to the University’s simulation lab. A final project thesis that has its focus on either design, simulation or construction of a robot concludes the programme of study. The programme is carried out in close collaboration with the surrounding industry and the research at the University.
